Welcome to our photo journal! If there is one constant in our lives, it's change! We met just over 2 years ago when I was living in CA and Ginnie was living in UT getting ready to move to CA. Now, we're married, living on the completely opposite side of the country and have a dog and a little girl! We were originally supposed to be going back to L.A. in July at the end of my tour in our National office, but plans there have changed and I'll be re-deploying to our New York City office instead. We're thankful for the opportunity to spend even more time in this great city as we haven't yet gotten to do everything we wanted to while living here. It's hard to live away from our families, but we love it here and feel it's where we're supposed to be right now. Given that we live so far from most of our family and friends, we hope this site allows you to feel like you are still a part of our daily lives. Enjoy!!

Clint, Keaton and Wyatt Want to be a Part of It! : Clint, Keaton and Wyatt have invaded NYC! Their first day they got to see the Yankees beat the Orioles 6-3, go swimming in the pool (forgot the camera for that one, but I'm sure there will be much more swimming to come), and take in Time's Square. Day 2 brought lunch in Bryant Park, the Natural History Museum, sailing boats and walking through Central Park, FAO Schwarz, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Nintendo World, and the M&M's Store. On Day 3, the boys helped me make the deliveries for our ward from the Bishop's Storehouse and then we came home for lunch and headed to Queens for the Mets game. The supposed thunderstorms never showed up and the Mets beat the Marlins 6 to 1. Verizon gave everyone at the game Mets duffel bags, so the boys got a free souvenier. Back to the house after that for Wii and a movie to close out the day. Since Day 4 was Sunday, not too many pictures from the day. We went to church, came home and had lunch and then took a nap while the boys played Wii. We then went to the pier for a picnic dinner. The USS Intrepid is in the water next to the pier. Day 5 was spent in Time's Square in the morning seeing the New Year's Eve ball, going to the Statue of Liberty, the Taste of Time's Square for dinner and then the Empire State Building at night. Day 6 just happened to be my birthday, and we went to the USS Intrepid Museum, ate a birthday dinner that Ginnie made for me at home, then went to Dylan's Candy Store and ESPN zone for some gaming fun. Then back home for cake and presents. Thanks to everyone for the great gifts. Tomorrow the boys go home and it was so fun to have them here and show them around the city that we love and call home!

2010 European Vacation : In April, we took a trip to Europe to visit Conrad and Ali while they were still living in London. We also were able to visit Paris and Edinburgh during the trip. Our trip was extended by 5 days as the Eyjafjallajoekull volcano in Iceland caused the cancellation of our original flight home. We had a great 2 week vacation and enjoyed spending time with Conrad and Ali with their resident expertise.

Madison Turns 1! : We had originally planned to fly home from London on Madison's birthday so that half could be spend in London and the other half in NYC. However, since we got stuck in London, we took Madison to the London Zoo for ther birthday where she loved everything, but mostly the aquarium. We had a party with Conrad and Ali at their flat and then when we finally did get back to NYC, there were so many presents waiting that we had to have another party for her! Happy 1st Birthday baby girl!

Thanksgiving 2009 : We went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving Day and just had to walk a couple of blocks over for a prime viewing spot at the bottom of Times Square. We then came home and had a very full house for Thanksgiving dinner. We had Mike, Larisa and Paige, Annie and Kah Leong, Andy and Stephanie, and Stephanie's three brothers that were visiting from Washington. It was a great day with friends and good food!

Halloween 2009 : Halloween 2009 was Madison's first Halloween. She was a ladybug, Dad was Edward Scissorhands and Mom was Amelia Earhart. We had fun carving pumpkins, going to the church Halloween party and then going to the NYC Halloween parade. We didn't stay too long as it literally rained on our parade and we were soaking wet by the time we got home!

Summer Trip to Utah 2009 : We finally got to get of the city for the first time since January! We took 2 weeks to go visit and spend time with our families in Utah. Madison was able to meet most of the family that she hadn't yet, and she met all 5 of her great-grandparents that are still alive. She must have some fantastic genes!! It was fun to see everyone, hang out at the lake, go to Morgan's parade and fair, take a trip to Idaho and Lava Hot Springs, go to a drive-in movie and just relax with famly. It was a great vacation and it ended all too soon!

Madison's Blessing - June 7, 2009 : We blessed Madison on June 7th and some of our family was able to fly to NYC to be here for the special occasion. Not everyone was able to make it, but we're glad that Rex & Colleen, Mike & Coleen, Ben and Conrad were here. The parents went to see West Side Story on their first night and then it rained all day Friday, so we went for pizza at John's and then spent the day at the Museum of Natural History. Saturday we all went to the Yankee game (Madison's first) and Sunday was the blessing. We had a luncheon afterwards and were glad that friends from work and the ward were able to come. We had a big breakfast Monday morning and Rex & Colleen went to the Statue of Liberty before everyone few out. Thanks everyone for coming. We hope you enjoyed the city!

Madison C Thomas - April 20, 2009 : Madison C Thomas was born at 3:33 a.m. on Monday, April 20th and weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measures 20 1/4 inches (we've already received a lot of e-mails saying we need to take her to Vegas with numbers like those). We gave her the middle initial of "C" in honor of her grandmothers, Coleen Cherrington and Colleen Condie. Mom and baby were doing so well that the hospital let us go a day early, and Madison took her first ride in a taxi, through Time's Square, and home on the 21st. It's nice to finally rest in our own beds without any hospital noise and without someone walking in every 2 minutes. Thank you all so much for your support from afar. We wish you all could be here to see her beauty in person and give her a hug, but hopefully that will happen soon enough!

Madison Thomas - Arriving Soon : Madison Thomas is due to arrive in New York City on April 19th, 2009. Mom Virginia has had a pretty rough pregnancy with morning sickness that lasted pretty much the first 4 months and has returned for the last trimester. As of February 8th, Virginia was exactly 30 weeks along and Madison is already very active. She loves it when we go to plays and will kick in-line with the beat of any song. On Friday night, we went to see Billy Elliot and were a couple of rows from the stage (right in front of the speakers) and she loved it. Madison will be born at New York Presbyterian hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and we're so excited for her to arrive. She has already brought many blessings into our lives. Madison's name is in celebration of our time in New York City. Madison Avenue is one of our favorite streets here, where both Ginnie and Jeff's (NYC) offices are located. We have a pool going that was filled out by all of our family members before we found out she was a girl to guess the baby's sex, weight, length, time and date of birth. Most everyone was wrong on the sex, so we'll see where it turns out!

Baby Showers for Ginnie : We flew to Utah the week of January 19th to see a few Sundance movies and also to see family. Our families and her friends and neighbors all had a shower for Ginnie on January 24th. Ginnie and her mom had spent a couple of days that week sewing a quilt and baby bumpers for Madison, so they all helped tie the quilt and spoiled us with gifts. We won't have to buy clothes or blankets for the first year or so. Thanks so much to everyone for making it such a special day for Ginnie!

Our 1st Anniversary : On November 21st - 24th, 2008, I took Ginnie to Nantucket for a long weekend to celebrate our 1st Anniversary. We rented a car and drove up and I didn't tell her where we were going, which drove her nuts. She kept on asking how much longer until we got there and she thought I was driving her to Maine. We had to take a ferry to get over to the island and I rented a cottage that wasn't too far to the beach. It was very cold that weekend and windy, but the cottage had two fireplaces to keep us warm and it was the perfect secluded getaway. It was the offseason for Cape Cod, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was the perfect way to celebrate our 1st anniversary!

Abindigo : On August 11th, I worked from the city and we ended up going out for Indian food for dinner. On the way we noticed that a pet store that we usually pass after closing had two puppies in the window. Needless to say, we went out for Indian Food and ended up with a puppy. We brought him home on August 18th and are having fun with him. Everyone on the street stops to look at him because he's so cute. Ginnie said that's the only reason he's part of our home now. He's got a ton of energy but keeps us on our toes! We should also note since everyone asks, his name comes from the Bible - Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego - we just changed the spelling a little. The three were threatened with being thrown into a fire when King Nebuchadnezzar ordered them to worship an idol. When they wouldn't he threw them in the fire and they walked around unscathed. Since they were known for their courage and since King Nebuchadnezzar subsequently hailed the men for their faith, we gave him the name Abindigo. He's so tiny that in this big city, he's going to need all the courage he can get.

Ginnie Gets Her Ring - in Paris! : The weekend of September 22nd to the 25th, Ginnie and I went to Paris where she finally got her ring! The actual proposal took place on the 24th (2 months to the day until we get married). We ate dinner at Restaurant Lasserre (http://www.restaurant-lasserre.com/intro.html) and then I proposed walking along the Seine River and the Eiffel Tower just happened to be twinkling at the moment I proposed. JT's 4th Annual Turducken Feast : On December 16, 2006 I had my fourth annual Turducken Feast. Turducken is a cajun dish that I grew a fancy for during my time in Mississippi and Louisiana. Island Park 2005 : The Thomas Family's annual trip to Island Park, Idaho! July 4th-10th, 2005. Every July, the extended Thomas Family takes a trip to Island Park, where the family used to have a cabin. This year, we rented a cabin on the same island where our cabin used to be prior to the annual reunion. All 16 1/3 of us (Kylee was prego with the 1/3) headed up on July 4th for 5 days in the cabin with the immediate family and 3 days in the campground with the extended family for the reunion. As usual, there were trips into West Yellowstone, Yellowstone, and Big Springs. We also spent a day on the lake and everyone agreed that we definitely want to rent the cabin again next year!

London 2004-05 : I spent New Year's 2005 in London with my friends Christie and Adrian. We were there from December 29, 2004 to January 5, 2005. I was able to do a lot of things that I didn't get to do my first time in London, like Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, shopping at Harrod's, the Tate Museum, the British History Museum, the London Eye, Stomp, and the Tower of London. It was my first time spending New Year's with that many people and it was definitely a great experience!

Maui 2004 : My friends Jen & Ryan Hales and I took a trip to Maui from October 30, 2004 through November 6, 2004. It was all our first time to any of the islands and Hawaii was as amazing as we thought it was going to be. We went to a luau, spent Halloween in Lahaina, took a kayak/snorkel trip in which we saw two white-tip reef sharks at our first drop, went scuba diving, took the road to Hana, more snorkeling, more scuba diving, golfing, and a helicopter tour for me. It was probably one of my top two most relaxing vacations ever (along with Acapulco 2002) and I definitely need to make it back and explore the other islands. Oh, and I need to finish getting certified so that I can dive some more.

Europe 2001 : 3 days after graduating from USC, I headed to Europe for a 5 week vacation with my friends Kathleen, Stephanie, Julie, Brie, Christie, and Nicole. We spent the first 2 weeks in Scotland, England and France before joining a tour with Contiki for the last 3 weeks. That tour started in London, went down through France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Holland, before winding back up in London to go home. 5 weeks was the perfect amount of time to see a little bit of every place and decide what I wanted to go back later and see more of. It was pretty much one of the best vacations of my life!
